Choosing a mattress

Which SleepUp mattress is best for back pain?

For back pain we usually recommend the Ortho Plus. It is our firmest model (about 70% hard, 30% soft), with a cooling gel layer on top, and it starts at ₹10,400 for a single. If you want the same support with more contouring and no springs, choose the memory-foam Ortho Lite instead.

Compare all four models side by side on Which SleepUp mattress is right for you?. Back pain has many causes, so if your pain is severe or recent, check with a doctor before relying on any mattress.

What is the difference between the Ortho Plus and the Ortho Lite?

The Ortho Plus is firmer (about 70% hard) and 6 inches thick, with cooling gel foam over a high-resilience foam base. The Ortho Lite is a little softer (about 60% hard) and 7 inches thick, with a cool memory foam layer that contours to your body. Both are all-foam, with no springs.

Ortho Plus starts at ₹10,400 and Ortho Lite at ₹12,400 (single size). See the Ortho Plus and Ortho Lite pages for layer-by-layer details.

Which mattress is best for couples?

The Knight is built for couples. Its pocket springs are individually wrapped, so one person turning over is barely felt on the other side, and a high-resilience foam border supports the edges. It is 10 inches thick with a balanced, slightly soft feel (about 40% hard, 60% soft).

The Knight starts at ₹17,200 for a single and ₹27,800 for a queen. See the Knight.

Is a firm mattress better for back pain?

Firm is not always better. A mattress should keep your spine straight: firm enough that your hips do not sink, soft enough that your shoulders and hips are cushioned. Most back-pain sleepers do best on a medium-firm to firm surface. Very hard surfaces can increase pressure on shoulders and hips, especially for side sleepers.

How thick should my mattress be?

Thickness matters less than the layers inside. Our foam models are 6 inches (Ortho Plus) and 7 inches (Ortho Lite), which suit most single sleepers and floor-level cots. Our Knight (pocket springs) and Euro Premium are 10 inches, which leaves room for a deeper support core under the comfort layers and suits heavier sleepers and couples.

Sizes and custom sizes

What mattress sizes do you make?

Every model comes in four widths: single (36 inches), double (48 inches), queen (60 inches) and king (72 inches). Each width is available in three lengths: 72, 75 and 78 inches. All three lengths of a width cost the same, so pick the length that matches your cot exactly.

Our Indian mattress size guide explains how to measure your cot and which size suits which room.

Can I order a custom size mattress?

Yes. Enter your cot's length and width on any product page using the Custom Size option, and the price is calculated from the area, relative to our king size. Custom sizes are made to order, must be paid online (no cash on delivery), and are not covered by the 100-night trial.

How do I measure my cot for a mattress?

Measure the inside of the cot frame, not the outside: wall to wall along the length, then across the width, in inches. Round down to the nearest standard size (72, 75 or 78 inches long; 36, 48, 60 or 72 inches wide). If your numbers fall between sizes, order a custom size instead.

Each product page has a short “How to measure” video next to the size selector.

Does a longer mattress cost more?

No. Within a width, the 72, 75 and 78-inch lengths are priced the same. Price changes only with width, from single (36 inches) up to king (72 inches). For example, an Ortho Plus single costs ₹10,400 whether it is 72, 75 or 78 inches long, and an Ortho Plus queen costs ₹17,600.

Price, payment and gifts

Why are SleepUp mattresses cheaper than showroom brands?

We make every mattress in our own factory in Red Hills, Chennai, and sell it directly to you. There is no distributor, no showroom rent and no salesperson commission in the price. That is how a mattress with a ₹18,909 MRP, like the Ortho Plus single, sells for ₹10,400.

The full breakdown is in factory-direct vs showroom mattress prices.

Is cash on delivery available?

Yes, cash on delivery is available for standard-size mattresses. You can also pay online by UPI, card or net banking at checkout. Custom-size mattresses are made to order, so they must be paid online. If you pay online for a standard size, look out for prepaid offers shown at checkout.

What free gifts come with a SleepUp mattress?

Each mattress comes with free pillows and a waterproof mattress protector. For a standard order, that is two pillows (₹450 MRP each) and one protector (₹2,500 MRP), worth ₹3,400 in total. Use the protector from day one: it keeps the mattress clean, which matters if you decide to return it during the trial.

If you return the mattress, 50% of the gift MRP (₹1,700) is deducted from the refund; see the return policy.

Delivery and installation

How long does delivery take?

Delivery usually takes 3–5 business days in Chennai and nearby areas, 5–7 business days in the rest of Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states, and 7–10 business days elsewhere in India. These are estimates from order confirmation; you get the exact date when we confirm your order, and tracking details by SMS.

Full details are in our shipping policy.

Is delivery free?

Yes, delivery is free to every serviceable pin code, including installation. Extra charges apply only if a delivery has to be repeated because of a wrong address, nobody being available at the agreed time, or an inaccessible location, and we always tell you the amount before rescheduling. Check your pin code on any product page.

Do you set up the mattress?

Yes. Your mattress arrives vacuum-sealed and roll-packed. Our delivery team unloads it, unpacks it on your cot if you want, and takes the packaging away at no extra cost. If you unpack it yourself, a cutting tool and an unwrapping guide are in the box. It expands to full shape within a few hours.

100-night trial and returns

How does the 100-night trial work?

The trial starts on the day your mattress is delivered and runs for 100 nights. Sleep on it at home; we suggest at least two weeks, because your body takes time to adjust. If it is not right, email us within the trial, and we arrange a pickup and refund once our quality team approves the return.

Read how the 100-night trial works for the full step-by-step.

Can I exchange my mattress instead of returning it?

Yes, once within the 100 nights, for a different firmness or size. Exchange shipping is ₹999 within Tamil Nadu (pickup and re-delivery) and actual courier charges elsewhere, quoted before we schedule it. The trial clock does not restart: your remaining nights continue from the original delivery date.

How long does a refund take?

About 15–20 days from pickup to money received. Pickup is scheduled within 24–72 hours in Tamil Nadu, transit to our Chennai hub takes 5–10 days, and quality check takes 24–48 hours. Prepaid orders are refunded, and COD orders paid back by bank transfer or UPI, within 7 business days after the check.

Are custom-size mattresses covered by the trial?

No. Custom sizes are cut and made for one specific cot, so they cannot be resold, and the 100-night trial does not apply to them. They still carry the full 15-year warranty against manufacturing defects. If you are unsure about the size, measure the inside of your cot carefully or call us before ordering.

Warranty and care

What does the 15-year warranty cover?

It covers manufacturing defects from the date of delivery: sagging or a dip deeper than 1 inch (2.54 cm) with correct use, defects in the foam or spring core, and cover stitching or zip defects. In the first year, an approved claim gets a replacement mattress; after that, you get a prorated credit for the remaining years.

See the return and warranty policy for the full terms.

What does the warranty not cover?

Normal wear, changing your mind about firmness, and damage from misuse are not covered. That includes stains, burns and tears, pet damage, using the mattress on a broken or sagging cot or slats more than 3 inches apart, folding it, and mattresses bought from unauthorised sellers. A good base and a protector avoid most problems.

How long does a mattress last?

A well-made foam or spring mattress usually stays comfortable for 7–10 years, depending on body weight, how many people share it, and the base it sits on. SleepUp mattresses carry a 15-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Replace a mattress when it sags, you wake up stiff, or it no longer feels supportive.

More in how long does a mattress last? and 7 signs it is time to replace your mattress.

Does a new mattress smell?

Sometimes, mildly. New foam and fresh packaging can have a slight smell when the mattress is first unrolled. It fades within 24–48 hours in a ventilated room. Open the windows, keep the mattress uncovered for the first day, and let it expand fully before putting sheets and the protector on.

How should I care for my mattress?

Use the waterproof protector from day one, rotate the mattress head-to-foot every 3–6 months, and keep it on a flat, firm base with no gaps over 3 inches. Clean spills straight away with mild detergent and a damp cloth, then let it dry fully. Never fold a foam or spring mattress.
